Having access to a range of activities within the Village and the
local area ensures residents are able to participate as much or
as little as they please whilst enjoying a relaxed lifestyle.
Residents in low care (hostel) units are supported by a variety
of recreational/diversional therapy activities. They receive support
of on-site personal care staff who assist with showering, dressing
and other personal needs on a daily basis, according to individual
requirements. Unit cleaning and laundry services are provided. Meals are served in the village dining room which is located
within the main nursing home building.
Village Amenities
Located within the main village building are tastefully appointed
dining and lounge areas, together with a separate activities/community
room where many of the village activities are held, as well as being
available to book for residents, families and friends. Regular entertaining
activities and village bus outings are enjoyed by residents.
Location
Dalmeny Retirement Village is located 7km north
of Narooma, with convenient access to the nearby bowling club, scenic
bushlands, waterways and the many recreational pursuits available
in Narooma. The site commands bushland and water views and overlooks
the Dalmeny Bowling Club. An on-site village shop provides day to
day items and more extensive services are available
in Narooma.
The
Units
The low care units at Dalmeny Village are located on the
northern end of the village over two levels. Access to the main
village amenities from all units is via covered walkway ramps. Each
unit looks out onto bushland garden areas from the patio and terraced
gardens at the rear of the units. A large bird aviary is a popluar
feature which is appreciated and enjoyed by residents. The units
comprise a bed/sitting room, with built in wardrobe space and tea
making bench, and an en-suite with shower and toilet facilities.
Each unit has an emergency call button which contacts our 24 hour
on-site staff. Carpet, window coverings and light fittings are supplied
and there is space for a small refrigerator which is supplied by
the resident if required. Residents can furnish their units to suit
individual needs and tastes.
