IRT Wellness Program Dalmeny

Based at IRT Dalmeny, this day program offers seniors with dementia the opportunity to participate in group activities for cognitive, physical and social stimulation – while allowing their carers a well deserved break. Although the program always focuses on your individual needs, some examples of the activities on offer include:

  • Social activities such as group walks and lunch outings
  • Games such as bingo and Trivial Pursuit
  • Various church services
  • Singing, dancing and entertainment from local volunteers
  • 'Play Up' program
  • Hairdreesser visits

When is the program available?

The program runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9 am and 3 pm. Morning and afternoon tea is provided, with lunch also available for a nominal fee. There are also transport options available.

Who runs the program?

The program is run by an IRT Coordinator, who is trained to a minimum level Certificate III in Aged Care and receives ongoing training in Aged Care, Dementia and Leisure and Lifestyle.

Who is it for?

This program is ideal for any senior who is being cared for, and designed to provide their carer with a little time to recharge.
