IRT Wellness Program Woonona

Based at IRT Woonona in the Illawarra, this day program offers seniors the opportunity to participate in group activities for cognitive, physical and social stimulation – while allowing their carers a well deserved break. Although the program always focuses on your individual needs, some examples of the activities on offer include:

  • Trivia
  • Cooking
  • Indoor bowling
  • Bingo
  • Quizzes and word games
  • Craft
  • Gardening
  • Bus outings
  • Movies
  • Active games
  • Special event celebrations.

When is the program available?

The program runs Monday to Saturday between 9.30 am and 2.30 pm. The charge is $9 per day Monday to Friday and $12 on Saturday. This includes transport, morning and afternoon tea and lunch.

Who runs the program?

The program is run by an IRT Coordinator, who is trained to a minimum level Certificate III in Aged Care and receives ongoing training in Aged Care, Dementia, and Leisure and Lifestyle.

Who is it for?

This program is ideal for any senior who is being cared for, and designed to provide their carer with a little time to recharge.
