Method of Calculation
Singles 30% of the Single Age Pension (to the nearest
5 cents)
Couples 25.5% of the Couple Age Pension ( to the nearest
5 cents)
Note: The pension amount used in the fee calculations
above excludes the 2% GST compensation component. Recurrent
Charges will only increase in line with increases in
the age pension
How are Recurrent Charges paid?
Recurrent Charges are payable fortnightly in advance.
IRT's preferred method of payment is by direct deposit.
Details are available from Accommodation & Customer Services staff.
What is covered by the Recurrent Charges?
Recurrent charges cover costs relating to:
- ACT Government charges, as applicable (eg. water rates and waste collection)
- Building and other appropriate insurance
- External building and grounds maintenance
- Ongoing maintenance of internal fixtures and fittings supplied by IRT
- Lift maintenance
- Care call system monitoring
- Security patrols
- Common lighting and power
- Operating and use of village centre and communal facilities
- Operating and use of pool, gym and bus.
Not covered by these fees are individual apartment/villa
electricity, gas, telephone & personal contents insurance.
IRT also takes responsibility for ongoing maintenance
of units including fixtures and fittings supplied by
IRT (such as white goods, light fittings, carpets etc,
details of which are available on the list of inclusions
and are specified in the Residence and Service Contract)
