Mira's Testimonial
My name is Mira and I work at IRT Culburra Beach.
Before I started with IRT I worked in the food industry for 15 years. When I was given the opportunity to work in the kitchen here I jumped at the chance.
Working in the kitchen and domestics was great. The daily routine is very well organised and runs smoothly. The staff are always there to help me.
Then I was asked if I was interested in Nursing. I did a couple of buddy shifts and have not looked back.
Since I started working at IRT I have never been happier.
Basically I enjoy coming to work. There is always plenty of work that suits your lifestyle or family commitments.
We are always having training and in-services on all sorts of subjects.
If you have an interest in learning more you may be able to become a Physio aide or Recreational Activities Officer (RAO). You may even go further and become an Enrolled Nurse (EN), Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
IRT is a large organisation and if you have to move home you may be able to transfer to another location.
Nobody really wants to work, but we have to and IRT is a great place to be. All the staff and management are there to help and explain what needs to be done and why.
Personally I think my role here is very rewarding. The residents who live here are lovely people and all have great life stories to tell. Not only do I assist these people with their daily needs, I talk to them, I laugh with them.
I enjoy working for IRT and I hope that if you join the IRT family you will be just as happy as me and the rest of us here.
