New General Manager for IRT College

Tania Tsiamis is the new General Manager of IRT College and she is excited about her role with IRT.
“IRT is an expanding and dynamic organisation and this role has provided me with the opportunity to come back to the community services sector and to reconnect with the Illawarra,” Mrs Tsiamis said.
Mrs Tsiamis joined IRT from Toyota Motor Corporation, in Caringbah, where she was the National Training Manager. She took up her new role with IRT at the end of September.
Mrs Tsiamis has a strong Learning and Development background; starting her career in recruitment.
IRT Chief Executive, Nieves Murray said Mrs Tsiamis was passionate about the human services and non-profit sector, having established and managed Greenacres Training Services, a division of Greenacres Disability Services, for 10 years.
“I’m delighted to have Tania join IRT,” Ms Murray said.
In her new role with IRT Mrs Tsiamis has some very clear ideas about Learning and Development opportunities. “I want to really understand what’s been working well and look at the opportunities for improvement,” she said. “The geographical spread of the organisation is one challenge and providing staff with the right training at the right time in the right way is very important. I’ll be looking at how technology can be used to reach across the whole organisation.”
Mrs Tsiamis said she wants to ensure that IRT’s workforce skills match current and emerging needs as well as the needs of the residents.
During her first few weeks Mrs Tsiamis has been busy getting out to different IRT Communities and meeting the educators.
Mrs Tsiamis holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Graduate Diploma in Vocational Education and Training and is currently completing a Master of Human Resource Management.
She has lived in the Illawarra for most of her life.
