The retirement industry is growing at a fast pace and at IRT the philosophy to meet the needs of the community, both today and tomorrow, is ever present.  Ongoing planning and development is being undertaken to ensure high quality accommodation for older Australians into the future.

Our growth since 1969 has been built on relationships within the local community. As IRT look to the future we seek to establish new partnerships and continue to build on these relationships. Our balance of new developments and acquisitions as well as the redevelopment of current sites ensures that all locations provide an environment to meet the community's needs, today and into the future.

During 2009 IRT's first facility in the ACT, Kangara Waters, transformed into a living village. Kangara Waters offers 150 Self Care Villas and Apartments and 100 private rooms in our Residential Care Centre, set in an exceptional lakeside location. In January 2010, IRT announced it has reached an agreement to purchase the Links Seaside senior living facility from its owners, Horizon Living and Horizon Care. Links Seaside is located on the corner of Corrimal and Ross Streets close to the Wollongong CBD, adjacent to Wollongong Golf Club and Wollongong City Beach. It currently comprises 154 independent living units, along with 90 aged care beds and 63 serviced apartments.

The development at Kangara Waters and the purchase of Links Seaside reflects IRT's strong financial position, and confirms our standing as a leader in the provision of aged care and retirement living.
