Open Day at IRT Sarah Claydon
10 October 2011
The staff and residents at IRT Sarah Claydon are opening their doors to the community for an open day on Friday, October 21, from 10am to 2pm.
The open day is a chance for visitors to see what’s on offer at this well-established aged care Community, and learn about what care and financial options are available to new residents.
IRT Sarah Claydon offers seniors a range of affordable care solutions, from 24-hour professional care support in the Care Centre through to independent living in the Lifestyle Community, and can accommodate a range of budgets. IRT In-Home Care is also available and provides a variety of care, cleaning and maintenance options to individuals in their own home.
During the open day there will be guest speakers including a financial planner, a solicitor and representatives from IRT.
IRT Sarah Claydon also ‘home for life’ – this is where a resident can come into the Community requiring a certain level of care and remain there when their circumstances change, provided their care needs are able to be met.
IRT Sarah Claydon Care Centre currently has vacancies for seniors who require a lower level of care and these suites will be available for inspection during the open day. The single rooms have ensuites, built-in wardrobes, and some have balconies.
IRT Area Manager Southern Shoalhaven Cheree Howe said IRT Sarah Claydon offered seniors affordable and flexible options to suit all financial situations. “For those who have lower care needs we have vacancies available now to suit all budgets – so come along to find out more,” she said.
Cheree said IRT Sarah Claydon offered residents a home-like, warm and friendly environment. “We have been part of the Milton community since the early 1980s and are proud of the service we offer our residents and our association with the local community,” she said.
IRT Sarah Claydon resident Joan Chilton said all the staff had been absolutely wonderful and she had no complaints.
“At the age of 91, I decided it was time for me to take responsibility for my life, so I decided to apply for a bed sitting room here,” she said.
“My family is so pleased with my decision and are either phoning or coming to see me and take me out for a meal. The room I have is a delight – all meals are served on time and are first class. All you have to do is enjoy life.”
There are regular activities for residents at IRT Sarah Claydon, a registered nurse on-site 24 hours a day and a great community feel.
As part of the open day a morning tea will also be provided.
IRT Sarah Claydon is at 130 Princes Hwy, Milton NSW.
