IRT has eight High Care Residential Facilities (nursing homes) in Woonona, Towradgi, Wollongong, Kanahooka, St Georges Basin, Culburra, Milton and Dalmeny.

High care facilities (nursing homes) provide 24 hour nursing care. As a resident of high care, registered nurses are on hand to support resident's ongoing needs, with physiotherapy, diversional therapy (recreational and social activities) and podiatry services all available.

Respite services are available at IRT's high care villages to provide assistance to carers. Similarly to residents, all respite clients must be assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). The level of care required for residents is based on an assessment by ACAT funded by the Commonwealth Government.

Each of IRT's high care facilities provides an environment which ensures the safety of residents and staff, and every effort is made to maintain a homelike atmosphere.
