Ruby Anniversary for IRT Diment Towers
IRT Diment Towers is celebrating its ruby anniversary in style on Thursday, July 28 with a black and white themed cocktail party.
Residents and staff are coming together to celebrate IRT Diment Towers’ 40th birthday and its long and proud history. IRT Diment Towers was IRT’s first Community, opened in July 1971, and was named after the man who drove the Diment Towers project – Dr Max Diment. The land for IRT Diment Towers was generously donated by Wollongong City Council in 1969.
IRT Regional Manager Craig Smith will be at the 40th birthday celebrations to perform the official duties. The evening will include a cake cutting, finger food and live entertainment for the guests. The residents chose the black and white theme for the evening and will be wearing those colours on the night.
IRT Chief Executive Nieves Murray said IRT Diment Towers’ 40th birthday was a time to celebrate and a chance to reflect on how IRT had grown and continued to provide a vital service in supporting seniors in the community.
“IRT Diment Towers is a special place and the residents and staff are very proud of its history,” she said.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend the 40th birthday celebrations at Diment Towers, 39-45 Staff Street, Wollongong at 5.30pm on July 28. The event will finish at 6.30pm.
