2011 HSC Course in Aged Care
In September 2010 the NSW Board of Studies approved the introduction of the Certificate III in Aged Care into the Human Services Curriculum Framework. This allows year 11 & 12 students to study a Certificate III in Aged Care whilst completing their HSC.
The Certificate is an entry level qualification into the Aged Care and Community Services industry and can provide an exciting career pathway into nursing and many other roles within this expansive and growing industry. Students who choose to sit the Aged Care HSC examination can have their results count towards their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank as well as being awarded a nationally recognised qualification.

IRT has been delivering the Certificate III in Aged Care qualification for the past 12 years through our Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The Department of Education & Training has approved the IRT RTO to deliver the Certificate III in Aged Care through the Human Services Curriculum Framework to Year 11 and 12 students.
As a student enrolled in this course you will have the advantage of not only gaining valuable work experience in one of our care centres whilst being supported and guided by our Clinical Educators, you will also have the opportunity to apply for ongoing paid work.
