Seniors to Compete in Carpet Bowls Competition
Competition and good fun comes together on Wednesday, July 27 for the annual IRT northern Lifestyle Communities carpet bowls event at IRT William Beach Gardens in Kanahooka.
In addition to friendly competition, the carpet bowls event encourages IRT’s residents to maintain their mobility and is a great social day out.
There will be a wide range of ages represented on the day, with competitors aged in their 70s through to their early 90s.
Nine teams of two are competing on the day and are travelling from as far as IRT Macarthur in Campbelltown to take part.
There will be plenty of spectators at the day to cheer on the competitors as well.
This event will be followed by a playoff in October against IRT’s southern communities.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend the carpet bowls event at IRT William Beach Gardens, 286 Kanahooka Road, Kanahooka at 11am on Wednesday, July 27. There will be the opportunity to speak to competitors and spectators and take photos.
