What are Wellness Programs?

IRT has Wellness Programs available that offer support for at home carers by providing a place for loved ones within your care to stay for a short period of time. Apart from providing seniors with care services and a place to stay, Wellness Programs include recreational activities that are organised for their enjoyment.

Wellness Programs are also referred to as Respite or Short Term Care.

IRT offer a number of different Wellness Program options depending on what is most suitable for your situation. Wellness Programs available at IRT include:

  • In-Home Care Wellness Programs
  • Care Centre Wellness Programs
  • Day Wellness Programs

In-Home Care Wellness Programs

IRT’s In-Home Care team can offer Wellness Programs at your home. This service provides at home carers with an opportunity for rest or to attend to tasks that require time away from the home.

You have the option of paying for Wellness Programs privately with IRT Home Support services or via a Government funded In-Home Care package.

IRT Home Support services (Private fee)

The benefit of paying privately for IRT Home Support services means you do not require a Government assessment and do not have to wait to receive services until a suitable In-Home Care package becomes available.

Private Fee Payments
Paying privately for In-Home Care Wellness Programs varies depending on the days and length of time the service is needed.

Depending on whether the day is a weekday, weekend or public holiday, prices can range from $37.50 to $93.60 per hour.

For specific prices please speak to IRT’s Customer Service & Sales team who can provide details that suit your individual situation.

In-Home Care package (Government funded)

If you would like to receive this service, your loved one within your care will need to be assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) to be considered. Any form of Wellness Program, referred to as Respite, subsidised by the Government is covered for a maximum of 63 days in any one financial year, however can be extended by ACAT if necessary.

Government Funded Payments
An In-Home Care Wellness Program via an In-Home Care package is charged on a daily basis and determined by the Government. The current fee is 17.5% of the single aged pension, however you could pay more or less depending on your financial situation.
