The Dance Floor Lights up at IRT Sarah Claydon
12 September 2011
A Dancing with the Staff spectacular was held at IRT Sarah Claydon Care Centre, Milton on August 26, much to the delight of the residents, families and visitors.
Organised by the Care Centre’s Lifestyle Officers and taken up with gusto by staff, the performance was a resounding success and a lot of fun for both the participants and the large audience who attended.
The resident judges Coral Sullivan, Patricia Pulham and Joan Chilton were an important part of the day’s fun too. But before the first stiletto stepped onto the dance floor there was a “bribery scandal” and the scores continued to escalate as each well rehearsed and dressed-up group of contestants took to the floor.
Dances performed on the day included rock ‘n’ roll, exotic, national, disco and ballroom. “Tiny Tim” (Lifestyle Officer Mary Dickson) also made a special appearance, playing his ukulele and singing his famous song ‘Tiptoe Through the Tulips’.
Wonderful prizes given to the contestants were donated by local businesses and sincere thanks go to: Millard’s Cottage, Ulladulla; Mollymook Golf Club;
Essential Beauty, Ulladulla; The Tipsy Fig Restaurant, Milton; Alan May Holden, Ulladulla; Fisherman’s Wharf Seafood and Café, Ulladulla; Flowers on Wason, Ulladulla;
Milton Hair Design; Akwa Surf Shop, Milton and Comfort Shoes, Ulladulla.
Rumours are circulating at IRT Sarah Claydon that secret rehearsals are under way for the next extravaganza to be called ‘Sarah Claydon has Talent’.
