Dementia-Friendly Retirement Villages: The Built Environment and Wayfinding

21 June 2018

This project will provide a way for retirement villages to assess how dementia friendly their village is in terms of built design and wayfinding, and offer a selection of solutions to address any issues identified.

This project is the second knowledge translation activity to be developed from the Alzheimer’s Australia NSW discussion paper Living with Dementia in Retirement Villages (funded by IRT and the RLC). The first was the Dementia Guide for the Retirement Village Industry (funded by RLC), which drew attention to the need for dementia friendly design in the retirement village sector and highlighted ways this can be addressed.
