12 September 2021
Dear family member/resident representative
All residents at your loved one’s aged care centre are comfortable with no COVID-19 symptoms and results received so far from testing on Friday have all been negative.
Today, in accordance with advice from NSW Health staff and residents will be tested again. If all results return as negative, we expect this will be the last round of testing for this period of risk and we will be able to begin easing some of the strict controls we have in place.
We anticipate this will include the opportunity for residents to once again meet together in common areas and have their meals in the dining room.
As I have mentioned before, the COVID-19 test results can take at least 24 hours to return to us and until all results are received and we are cleared by NSW Health we will continue to manage your loved one’s aged care centre in accordance with our Outbreak Management Plan (OMP).
As I outlined yesterday I will continue to provide you with daily updates until then. We are optimistic that this will be from midnight 14 September. Therefore I expect my last update about this to be on Wednesday 15 September.
Staff continue to care for, and support residents in their rooms. Residents are enjoying their phone and video calls with family and friends and staff are helping them with this when needed. Please let us know if you feel your loved one is not coping with the current circumstances or if you need help connecting with them.
