Dear family member/resident representative,
Thank you for your support as we continue to manage your loved one’s aged care centre in accordance with our outbreak management plan.
I am pleased to let you know that the results of PCR tests conducted since my last update to you, were all negative. Also since writing to you, a number of residents have reached their recovery criteria. This milestone is reached after a person reaches 10 days since testing positive and has no symptoms.
Some residents are continuing their recovery and while considered stable, they are still being monitored closely.
The recovered residents are still encouraged to remain in their rooms as much as possible. While other residents are continuing their recovery, all will receive their meals in their rooms where they will also be supported by staff with their care needs, activities of interest and help where needed.
While this progress is pleasing, until all residents have reached their recovery criteria we remain vigilant and will continue to manage the centre according to our outbreak management plan.
This includes continuing our program of testing to ensure early detection of any further cases with residents who have not yet tested positive, being tested today. If your loved one returns a positive result, staff will let you know by phone. I will provide another update like this one later in the week when we expect to have the results.
Visiting arrangements
While the risk of COVID-19 remains, the centre is closed to all visitors with the exception of those who assist with essential care including help with meals; and by special arrangement with the Care Manager. Leaving the centre is not recommended for residents unless for essential reasons.
