Dear family member/resident representative,
Thank you for your ongoing support as we manage the risk of COVID-19 in your loved one’s aged care centre.
Since writing to you on Wednesday, unfortunately another resident in Callala House has tested positive to COVID-19. This resident is now being closely monitored in their room by our staff.
We are caring for 15 residents who are COVID-19 positive at the aged care centre who are continuing to experience a range of mild symptoms. Where required, some of our residents are being treated with anti-viral treatment to support in their recovery.
All residents who have not yet tested positive to COVID-19 in Cambewarra, Currarong and Callala House will be tested again via the PCR method on Sunday 19 June. I will update you on the results on Monday, however you will receive a call from the aged care centre if your loved one returns a positive result.
Our Lifestyle team is continuing to support all residents at the centre with activities of their interest. Where a resident is required to remain in their room, isolation packs have been distributed with reading materials and puzzles.
Visiting arrangements and the wearing of PPE
I encourage you to reconsider your visit at this time or the need to take your loved one out of the centre. If you do proceed please assist staff by complying with the following:
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms. Even if you have tested negative for COVID-19 you could have influenza which is also highly contagious.
Please pass this information on to others in your family as you consider appropriate.
If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Yours sincerely,
Nia Briguglio
