Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update about your loved one’s aged care centre.
Pleasingly, since writing to you on Wednesday no more residents have tested positive to COVID-19.
More of our residents have reached their recovery criteria today and more are expected to do so over the weekend. They are now free to leave their rooms and meet with others within their cottages.
All residents who had not yet tested positive to COVID-19 are being tested again today via the PCR method. As you know the results from this method can take up to 24 hours.
Remaining residents who are continuing their recovery period are being monitored closely. Most are now experiencing mild or no symptoms however one continues to be challenged by their symptoms. We are in consultation with their GP and nominated representatives regarding their care needs.
Staff continue to provide support to all residents and help where needed to connect with family and friends by video and phone calls.
I will provide you with another update early next week, when we hope to have the results from today’s tests and news of more residents reaching their recovery criteria.
Visiting arrangements
While we are pleased with progress we have not dropped our guard, as the risk of the virus and its transmission still remains across the centre.
For this reason visiting at this time is still strongly discouraged. If you do wish to proceed with your visit please contact the Care Manager to discuss making an appointment for your visit, and please comply with instructions regarding the wearing of PPE.
