Dear family member/resident representative,
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
Today all residents and staff will once again be tested for COVID-19 and I appreciate their patience with this important process. If all results are negative, this will be the last round of tests as we begin our transition to regular operations.
Tomorrow I will share more information with you about our transition plan including the process of determining the outbreak to be over which is made by the NSW Public Health Unit.
When will visiting resume?
Our transition plan will address arrangements and dates for the resumption of visiting to the care centre – these arrangements will also be determined by the NSW Public Health Unit. I know it has been challenging for many who have not been able to visit their loved ones for some time and I hope we are able to welcome you back to the centre as soon as we are permitted to do so. As soon as I have the information from the Public Health Unit I will share it with you.
Meanwhile for your information, the current visiting arrangements in other NSW aged care centres, which are determined by the NSW Chief Health Officer, include the requirement for all visitors to have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccination and to have received the second dose at least 14 days before visiting their loved one.
Progress continues
Since writing to you yesterday we have had another resident reach the recovery criteria and we are now caring for three residents with COVID-19 at the care centre. Our resident who is in hospital has also been determined recovered but remains there to receive treatment for a non-COVID-19 matter.
Eighteen of our 26 residents who originally tested positive have now reached the recovery criteria and many of them have started to return to their rooms.
Those who have not yet reached the recovery criteria continue to be monitored closely with support from the Virtual Community Care team, and we expect them to be deemed recovered in the coming days.
Today our Lifestyle team will offer residents who are interested, a range of greeting cards to send to family or friends; and assist them if needed with writing them. The team will post them on behalf of the residents.
They will also assist with phone calls to family and friends if needed and continue helping with the popular walks through the hallway and into the courtyard.
Please remember if you are sending or delivering gifts to your loved one to include their name and ensure they are dropped off at the table located outside reception, between 10am – 11am and 1pm – 2pm each day. Please don’t send items that require refrigeration.
You are receiving this email update as you are the nominated representative of your loved one. Please pass on this information to other family contacts as appropriate.
If you have any questions or concerns please call our Customer Service Team on 134 478.
Thank you again for your patience.
Yours sincerely
Nia Briguglio
