An update about IRT Thomas Holt Kirrawee Aged Care Centre

Dear family member/resident representative

Thank you for your support as we manage your loved one’s aged care centre in accordance with our outbreak management plan (OMP).

I wrote to you last week to let you know that a number of residents in Roden Cutler House had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

In response we implemented our OMP and began a regime of regular testing for residents, with rounds of tests conducted for those in Roden Cutler House including Magnolia on Friday and Sunday (yesterday); as well as for those in Jacaranda and Flame Tree yesterday.

Results of the tests have been received with a further 15 residents in Roden Cutler House returning positive results. All results for Jacaranda and Flame Tree were negative.

Residents diagnosed with COVID-19 (now 23) are being monitored closely as they experience symptoms ranging from mild to none at all. Along with all other Roden Cutler House residents they are being encouraged to remain in their rooms where they are being supported with their care needs and served their meals.

The Lifestyle team continues to assist residents with activities of interest and phone connection with relatives and friends if needed.

Residents of Roden Cutler House (including Magnolia), excluding those who have already tested positive, will be tested again tomorrow, while residents in Jacaranda and Flame Tree require no further testing.

I will provide you with another update on Wednesday when we expect to have the results of tomorrow’s tests. If your loved one returns a positive result, staff will let you know by phone and continue to provide you with a daily update regarding their progress.
