Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update about your loved one’s aged care centre and firstly I have sad news to share.
Having contracted COVID-19 and already experiencing health challenges a resident of the care centre yesterday passed away.
On behalf of IRT I extend our condolences to her family and friends. In their eighties they were a resident with us for some time, and will be greatly missed by all staff and their friends at IRT Woonona.
Our thoughts today are of that resident and our reflections are on the connections they made with us and others during their time in our care.
Test results
In other news since yesterday we have received further test results which confirm that two more residents of Flametree Level 2 have the virus, and unfortunately six residents of the groundfloor of Flametree have also been diagnosed with COVID-19.
There were no new cases of COVID-19 identified in Ribbonwood Level 2.
We continue to monitor all residents as they experience a range of mild to moderate symptoms and where appropriate they are being prescribed anti-viral medication by their GPs.
All residents are encouraged to remain in their rooms where they are being supported with their care needs. They will be tested again tomorrow (those who haven’t tested positive) and I will provide you with another update later in the week. As previously explained, if your loved one returns a positive test result staff will let you know by phone.
Restricted visiting
Visiting is restricted to those who provide essential care only and by arrangement with the Care Manager.
