An update about your loved one’s aged care centre

20 May 2021

Dear family member / representative of an IRT Woonona Aged Care Centre resident

The purpose of this message is to let you know that we have closed the Aged Care Centre to visitors as a small number of our residents have tested positive to an infectious respiratory illness. We are reporting to the Public Health Unit. Test results to date have cleared all residents of COVID-19 and influenza.

The unwell residents have been isolated in their rooms with strict infection control protocols being followed in their care, and we have already been in touch with their families by telephone.

We understand that this interruption to visiting may be difficult for some but it is standard infection-control practice to close when a number of our residents present with infectious respiratory symptoms.

Requests for visits in exceptional circumstances will always be considered and we remain committed to helping you connect with your family and friends via phone, video call, or window visits.

I will be back in touch as soon as visiting can resume.

Please don’t hesitate to contact your Care Manager if you have any questions.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely

Nia Briguglio
