An update for IRT Kangara Waters Aged Care Centre

16 June 2021

Dear family member/resident representative

I’m writing to let you know that while unwell residents continue to recover from the symptoms of their respiratory illness, visiting to the centre remains restricted to essential visits only.

All tests for COVID-19 and influenza on unwell residents have continued to return negative results.

We understand that this interruption to visiting may be difficult for some but it is standard infection-control practice to restrict visiting when a cluster of residents presents with respiratory symptoms.

We continue to liaise with the ACT Public Health Unit and respond to their directions.

We will remain open for essential visits only pending further advice from the Public Health Unit and until all of our residents are well with no symptoms.

If you would like assistance connecting with your loved one via phone or video calls please let us know.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work towards ensuring the health and safety of all our residents.

If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.

I will be back in touch as soon as visiting can resume.

Yours sincerely

Nia Briguglio
