An update regarding IRT Culburra Aged Care Centre

16 June 2021

Dear family member / representative

The purpose of this message is to let you know that a small number of our residents at your loved one’s aged care centre are currently experiencing symptoms of a respiratory illness and visiting is now restricted to essential visits only.

All unwell residents have been tested for COVID-19 and influenza and results received so far have been negative.

We have already been in touch with the families of the affected residents by telephone.

We understand that this interruption to visiting may be difficult for some but it is standard infection-control practice to restrict visiting when a cluster of residents present with respiratory illness symptoms. It is also a standard requirement that we notify the NSW Public Health Unit and we continue to liaise with them.

We will remain open for essential visits only pending further advice from the Public Health Unit and until all of our residents are well with no symptoms.

Requests for essential visits will be considered in consultation with the Care Manager and we remain committed to helping you connect with your family and friends via phone, video call, or window visits.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely

Nia Briguglio
