An update regarding IRT Greenwell Gardens Aged Care Centre

15 June 2021

Dear family member / representative

The purpose of this message is to let you know that some of our residents in Callala House at your loved one’s aged care centre are currently experiencing symptoms of a respiratory illness.

All unwell residents have been tested for COVID-19 and influenza and returned negative results and we have been in touch with their families.

As is common practice when a cluster of residents present with respiratory symptoms, we continue to engage with the NSW Public Health Unit and act in accordance with their directions.

We will continue to do so until all residents are well with no symptoms. Until then Callala House is open to essential visits only.

Arrangements for visitors to all other areas of the aged care centre remain unchanged. Details of these arrangements can be found here.

Surgical masks and 2021 Influenza vaccine

Please note that we still require you to wear a mask when visiting and when visiting you will notice staff continue to wear masks. This is a precaution to ensure we minimise the risk of an outbreak in the aged care centre.

It is a requirement for all visitors aged 16 years and over to provide proof of having had the 2021 influenza vaccine.

If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely

Nia Briguglio
