27 June 2021
Dear family member/resident representative
You may be aware that there has been a rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the greater Sydney and Wollongong regions of NSW and new public health orders have been introduced regarding movement within those areas.
Regrettably in response to those public health orders large numbers of people from Greater Sydney and Wollongong moved to the south coast and as such increased the risk of COVID-19 in the area of your loved one’s aged care centre.
To mitigate this risk and on advice from regional health experts we are implementing the same restricted visiting arrangements as those we have implemented in our aged care centres in Greater Sydney and Wollongong.
From 6pm today 26 June until midnight on 9 July our aged care centres are closed to all visitors except for essential visits only. These visits must be by arrangement with your Care Manager.
We will keep you informed if there are any changes to these restrictions.
We know this is unpleasant news and disappointing for everyone as we continue to manage the challenges of the pandemic.
I want to assure you that our staff are committed to helping when they can to connect you and your loved one via phone and video calls.
Our staff will continue wearing masks at the aged care centre. This is a precaution to ensure we reduce the risk of an outbreak in the aged care centre.
Residents are advised not to leave their aged care centre except for purposes such as medical appointments.
Thank you for your patience and support at this difficult time. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, we remain focused on reducing the risk of a COVID-19 outbreak and are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of your loved one.
If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
