Dear family member/resident representative
As you may be aware there has been an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in some areas of Queensland and in response to this new directions have been issued by the Queensland Chief Health Officer for aged care centres in South East Queensland.
The directions which include restricted visiting arrangements have been introduced to reduce risk of an outbreak in your loved one’s aged care centre.
Restricted visiting arrangements
From today until 13 July IRT Woodlands Aged Care Centre is closed to all visitors except for essential visits only. These visits must be by arrangement with your Care Manager.
While it is hoped that these instructions will be in place for the above period only we cannot be certain of its length but will keep you informed if there are any changes to these restrictions.
We know this is unpleasant news and disappointing for everyone as we continue to manage the challenges of the pandemic.
I want to assure you that our staff are committed to helping when they can to connect you and your loved one via phone and video calls.
Face masks and eye protection
The Chief Health Officer has directed that as an additional precaution all staff in aged care centres in specified areas of South East Queensland wear face masks and eye protection. Your loved one will notice our staff wearing these as we all work to reduce the risk of an outbreak in the aged care centre.
Outings for essential purposes such as for a medical appointment are permitted.
Thank you for your patience and support at this difficult time. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, we remain focused on reducing the risk of a COVID-19 outbreak and are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of your loved one.
If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
