Dear family member/resident representative
I am aware that visiting is currently restricted at your loved one’s aged care centre as residents recover from symptoms of respiratory illness.
Meanwhile, there has been a rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in some areas of NSW and new public health orders have been introduced regarding movement within the greater Sydney area including Wollongong.
The public health orders have been introduced to reduce risk of an outbreak in the community and once more we have had to implement restricted visiting arrangements.
Restricted visiting will continue until 9 July
With the introduction of today’s public health orders, even if unwell residents recover in the coming days at your loved one’s aged care centre, it will remain closed to all visitors until midnight on 9 July, except for essential visits only. These visits must be by arrangement with your Care Manager.
While it is hoped that these instructions will be in place for the above period only we cannot be certain of its length but will keep you informed if there are any changes to these restrictions.
We know this is unpleasant news and disappointing for everyone as we continue to manage the challenges of the pandemic.
I want to assure you that our staff are committed to helping when they can to connect you and your loved one via phone and video calls.
Our staff will continue wearing masks at the aged care centre. This is a precaution to ensure we reduce the risk of an outbreak in the aged care centre.
Residents are advised not to leave their aged care centre to attend family gatherings or group excursions. Outings for essential purposes such as for a medical appointment are permitted.
Thank you for your patience and support at this difficult time. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, we remain focused on reducing the risk of a COVID-19 outbreak and are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of your loved one.
If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
