Dear family member/resident representative
Following an increased risk of COVID-19 transmission in the Greater Sydney and Illawarra area the NSW Chief Health Officer has issued updated directions for aged care centres in Greater Sydney, Nepean Blue Mountains and Illawarra regions.
These directions can be viewed here.
Restricted numbers when visiting
Until further notice your loved one is permitted only 2 visitors per day and visits must occur in your loved one’s room, or in an outdoor area.
Visits can occur between the hours of 10am and 5pm (7 days) and all visitors must wear a surgical mask.
Appointments are not required for visits on weekdays but remain a necessity for all other times to allow us to manage the number of people in the aged care centre at any one time.
No visits from areas of risk or case locations
The NSW Chief Health Officer directs that you cannot visit your loved one’s aged care centre if you have been to any of the case locations, areas of concern or geographical areas of risk in any state of Australia or in New Zealand.
Please continue to check the NSW Health website here before you visit, as the information about these locations can change from day to day.
A reminder about flu vaccinations
In response to advice from the NSW Chief Health Officer, all visitors aged 16 years and over are required to provide evidence that they have received the 2021 influenza vaccination. The only exception is for those with a medical exemption, in which case a medical certificate is required.
All other conditions of visiting arrangements and resident outings apply, including the requirement to complete a wellness check before entering the aged care centre. These details can be found here.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact your Care Manager.
