Important information about IRT Berala on the Park Aged Care Centre

26 April 2023

Dear family member/resident representative,

Thank you for your support as we have managed the risk of COVID-19 at your loved one’s aged care centre.

Today I am pleased to let you know that there have been no further positive results from our precautionary testing. With this good news and with all but one of the residents who were earlier diagnosed with COVID-19 now deemed fully recovered, the outbreak is considered resolved.

While one resident in the Dementia Support Unit who is still COVID positive continues to isolate, they have been deemed as a low risk exposure for the care centre.

Having reached this milestone, regular group activities will resume and children under the age of 12 can again visit Level 3.

Visiting arrangements

The staff and I are grateful to those who visited during the outbreak period and supported the care centre by wearing their PPE correctly.

Please note, that while we are still caring for one positive case in the Dementia Support Unit, visitors to this area will be required to continue to wear full PPE as directed by staff.

To refresh your memory on our visiting arrangements please go to our website by clicking this link.

Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell, even if your symptoms are mild. Even if you have a negative COVID-19 test result you may still have another type of infection which is highly contagious.

Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate. If you have any questions please contact your Care Manager

Thank you once again for your support.

Yours sincerely

Belinda Pheeney
Acting Operations Manager Sydney – Aged Care Centres
