Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update about your loved one’s aged care centre.
We have been informed of a COVID-19 exposure at the aged care centre. With the increased risk of transmission in the community around your loved one’s aged care centre, we are now acting as a matter of precaution to ensure the level of risk to the care centre is reduced.
All of our residents remain well and are not displaying any COVID-19 symptoms. As a precaution, they were all PCR tested for COVID-19 yesterday. We will be conducting ongoing precautionary testing over the next 7 days and will keep you informed of the results and any new information we receive.
Residents are isolating in their rooms where they will receive their meals. Our Lifestyle Team are supporting them and they have been provided with activity packs, including reading materials and puzzles.
Visiting arrangements
The centre remains open to visitors as per the arrangements outlined for NSW Aged Care Centres here.
However with the increased risk of exposure at the care centre, we strongly urge that you reconsider your need to visit and, if not possible, to exercise caution if a scheduled visit must go ahead.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
I am writing to you as you are the person identified in our records as your loved one’s nominated representative. Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
