Important information about IRT Culburra Beach Aged Care Centre

Dear family member/resident representative,

I am writing to let you know that a resident in Banksia Wing at your loved one’s aged care centre has tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid antigen test.

The resident who is fully vaccinated is experiencing mild symptoms and is being monitored by staff. We have been in contact with their nominated resident representatives.

All other residents in the care centre remain well. As a precaution we will be testing all residents at the centre today for COVID-19. I will keep you informed of the results including the need for subsequent testing once we have determined this with the NSW Public Health Unit.

Meanwhile we have implemented our Outbreak Management Plan, which includes a range of strict infection protocols and precautionary measures.

Unfortunately this includes no visiting to Banksia Wing, except for compassionate visits which will be arranged by the Care Manager.

Visiting to all other areas of the care centre can continue as per the arrangements outlined for NSW Aged Care Centres here.

I appreciate that this news may be concerning, but please be assured that we are acting now to minimise the risk of transmission at the care centre.

I am writing to you as you are the person identified in our records as your loved one’s nominated representative. Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
