Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update on your loved one’s aged care centre.
As you may recall, I wrote to you last week to inform you that a resident in Crookhaven House had tested positive to COVID-19.
I am pleased to let you know that the results of rapid antigen tests conducted on residents in Crookhaven House on Saturday were all negative. These residents will be rapid antigen tested again for COVID-19 tomorrow as per directions from the NSW Public Health Unit.
Unfortunately, we have been informed that yesterday another resident in Currarong House tested positive to COVID-19 on a rapid antigen test after returning from an outing. The resident is experiencing mild symptoms and we have been in contact with their family.
As a precaution, all residents in Currarong House were rapid antigen tested and have all returned a negative result (except for the one positive resident in this house). These residents are now isolating in their rooms where they will receive their meals and are being supported by the Lifestyle Team with activity packs.
Visiting the care centre
Unfortunately this means that visiting to Currarong House is now restricted to compassionate visits only by arrangement with the Care Manager.
A reminder that Crookhaven House also remains closed to visitors, with compassionate visits permitted.
Visiting to the rest of the centre can continue as per the arrangements outlined for NSW Aged Care Centres here.
Visitors must go to reception on arrival to complete a wellness screening, including a mandatory rapid antigen test.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are feeling unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
Please pass this message on to other family members as you deem appropriate.
I will write to you again to provide you with an update once we receive the results of the next round of precautionary tests for both Crookhaven and Currarong House.
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
Nia Briguglio
