Important information about IRT Links Seaside
Aged Care Centre

16 March 2022

Dear family member/resident representative,

I am writing to provide you with an update on your loved one’s aged care centre.

I am pleased to let you know that the aged care centre remains stable. Residents on Level 2 and 3 who are isolating in their rooms are doing well, as are all other residents at the aged care centre.

We have coordinated for an external pathology lab to conduct another round of PCR testing on all residents, which we hope will happen today.

Our four COVID-19 positive residents who are receiving care at our IRT COVID-19 wing in Kirrawee are progressing well to recovery. Pleasingly, one of our residents will return to the aged care centre today to complete their final days of recovery.

Our positive resident who remains at the care centre is also doing well.

While the progress at the aged care centre is encouraging, we will continue to remain diligent and act in accordance with our outbreak management plan until we can be sure there is no further risk of transmission.

Visiting arrangements

As previously outlined, I strongly encourage you to reconsider the need to visit your loved one during this increase in case numbers at the care centre.

If you feel you must continue with your scheduled visit please proceed with caution. If visiting a loved one on Levels 2 and 3 please do so only in their room, wearing all necessary PPE at all times.

Until we are certain that the risk of COVID-19 spreading within the centre has been contained, all visitors will be asked to undergo a rapid antigen test each time they enter. So, if you visit each day, you must be tested daily.

Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.

For all other details of our visiting requirements for NSW aged care centres please see information here.

Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.

Yours sincerely,

Nia Briguglio
