Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update about your loved one’s aged care centre.
Yesterday a resident unfortunately tested positive to COVID-19 via both a rapid antigen test and PCR test.
The resident, who is triple vaccinated, is experiencing a range of mild symptoms. They are currently isolating in their room where they are being cared for by our staff. We are in contact with their family.
We have now implemented our Outbreak Management Plan which includes strict infection control protocols. This includes ongoing rapid antigen testing of all residents, as well as PCR testing throughout the next ten days.
Residents were rapid antigen tested yesterday and pleasingly all other residents returned a negative result. All residents are being PCR tested again today and I will keep you informed of the results.
Visiting arrangements
With an increase in the risk of COVID-19 exposure at the centre, we strongly encourage you to reconsider the need to visit your loved one.
If you feel you must continue with your scheduled visit please proceed with caution. If visiting a loved one please do so only in their room, wearing all necessary PPE at all times.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
