Important information about IRT Moruya Aged Care Centre

09 February 2022

Dear family member/resident representative,

I am writing to let you know that a resident in your loved one’s aged care centre has tested positive for COVID-19.

The resident who is not experiencing any symptoms was tested today using the rapid antigen tested method after returning from an outing.

They are being monitored by staff and we have been in contact with their nominated resident representatives.

All other residents in the care centre have been tested today as a precaution and all results were negative.

Tomorrow we will meet with representatives of the NSW Public Health Unit (PHU) to determine next steps including the need for subsequent testing and I will keep you informed.

Meanwhile we have implemented our Outbreak Management Plan, which includes a range of strict infection protocols and precautionary measures, including the need for residents to be cared for in their rooms where they will be served their meals.

Members of our Lifestyle Team are supporting the residents with activity packs and can assist them where needed to connect with family and friends by video or phone calls.

No visiting

In addition to the above measures, the care centre is now closed to visitors except for those making compassionate visits which will be arranged by the Care Manager.

I am writing to you as you are the person identified in our records as your loved one’s nominated representative. Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact Neenu Baby, your Care Manager.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Nia Briguglio
