Dear family member/resident representative,
Since writing to you last week, residents in Sanctuary House were PCR tested for COVID-19 over the weekend and unfortunately another resident has returned a positive result taking the total number of positive residents at the care centre to two.
The resident is stable with mild symptoms and we have been in contact with their family. Staff continue to monitor both of our COVID-19 positive residents closely with regular observation checks.
We continue to manage the site in accordance with our Outbreak Management Plan and are working with health authorities to ensure all necessary infection control protocols are in place.
As a precaution, all other residents at your loved one’s aged care centre will be rapid antigen tested for COVID-19 today. I will keep you informed of the results.
Residents in Sanctuary House continue to be cared for in their rooms and the Lifestyle Team are assisting them with a range of activities; as well as arranging phone and video calls with family and friends where required.
A reminder that Sanctuary House is closed to visitors except for those making compassionate visits by arrangement with the Care Manager.
Visiting in all other areas of the care centre can continue as per the arrangements outlined for NSW Aged Care Centres on our website here.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are feeling unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
