Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to provide you with an update on your loved one’s aged care centre.
As you may recall, I wrote to you yesterday to inform you of an increase in COVID-19 cases at the aged care centre. Since then residents in Rosella/Lorikeet were precautionary PCR tested and unfortunately an additional 2 residents have returned a positive result.
These residents are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and are displaying some mild symptoms. We have been in contact with their family.
We are now caring for 9 residents at the aged care centre who are COVID-19 positive. They remain stable as our staff monitor them closely and support them through their recovery.
All other residents in Rosella/ Lorikeet are doing well. Yesterday our Lifestyle Team delivered chocolates to these residents and today they will be providing activity packs for those who are interested in them.
Visiting arrangements
As I wrote to you yesterday, with an increase in case numbers at the centre we strongly encourage you to reconsider the need to visit your loved one.
Visitors under 12 years of age are not permitted until the risk of exposure has been minimised.
All visitors must wear all necessary PPE whilst in the care centre, including a P2/N95 mask and complete a rapid antigen test prior to entry.
Please do not visit the care centre if you are unwell with even the mildest symptoms, or if you are awaiting the result of a PCR test.
If you choose not to visit the Lifestyle Team can assist where needed to connect residents with family and friends by phone or video call.
