Dear family member/resident representative,
Thank you for your continued support as we manage the risk of COVID-19 and Rhinovirus at your loved one’s aged care centre.
COVID-19 update
As mentioned in my previous update, residents on the Ground Level and Level 1 of Roden Cutler House were PCR tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday and so far have returned negative results. The next round of testing will be conducted on Sunday and I will provide you with another update once we receive these results.
If your loved one returns a positive result, staff will let you know by phone and continue to provide you with a daily update regarding their progress.
We continue to care for two residents with COVID-19 on Level 1 of Roden Cutler House. The two residents have commenced anti-viral medication and we are monitoring them closely as we care for them in their rooms. Both residents are stable and are experiencing mild symptoms such as a dry cough.
Rhinovirus update
We are caring for one resident on Level 1 of the Flame Tree Building with Rhinovirus. The resident is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms including a cough and is isolating in their room. We are monitoring the resident closely in consultation with their GP.
Visiting arrangements
As we manage the risk of COVID-19 and Rhinovirus at the centre, you are encouraged to postpone your visit at this time. If you do continue with your plans to visit, please assist the care centre by complying with the following:
- All visitors are asked to complete their own rapid antigen test at home or on arrival at the centre and provide proof of the negative result (photo or actual test).
- All visitors are asked to wear a P2/N95 mask when visiting and other PPE as directed by staff.
- Those visiting a resident who is considered a close contact or is COVID-19 positive will be provided with direction on any further PPE requirements by a member of staff.
- Please wear your PPE as instructed by staff. If a staff member asks you to adjust it they are doing so to protect you, your loved one, and all others living and working in the care centre.

Further to the visiting arrangements above, please note that while we manage the risk of COVID-19 at the centre, children under 12 years of age are not permitted to visit.
Please do not visit if you are unwell yourself, with even the mildest symptoms. Symptoms of respiratory infection can indicate a range of contagious viruses including COVID-19 and influenza.
