Important information about IRT Thomas Holt Kirrawee Aged Care Centre

08 July 2022

Dear family member/resident representative,

Thank you for your support as we manage your loved one’s aged care centre in accordance with our outbreak management plan.

This morning all residents in Roden Cutler House were rapid antigen tested, followed by a PCR test. Pleasingly all the results of the rapid antigen tests were negative. I will inform you of the PCR results on Monday.

These residents will be PCR tested again on Sunday in accordance with the guidance from the NSW Public Health Unit. We appreciate that this repeated testing may be uncomfortable for some of our residents and are grateful to them for their understanding and patience with this important process.

Our three COVID-19 positive residents remain well and are continuing their path to recovery with the support of our staff. Once they reach their recovery criteria of 10 days since a positive test and three days with no symptoms, which we anticipate will occur early next week, we will commence the de-isolation process.

While progress at the aged care centre is encouraging, we remain vigilant and will not ease on our infection control policies until the risk of transmission is reduced.

Visiting arrangements

A reminder that you are encouraged to postpone any plans to visit. If you do continue with your plans please assist staff with the following arrangements.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Yours sincerely,
