Dear family member/resident representative,
This is an update about how we are managing the risk of COVID-19 at your loved one’s aged care centre.
All residents who have so far tested negative for COVID-19 received PCR tests on Saturday and unfortunately the results have returned a high number of positive cases on the ground floor and on level 1. We are closely monitoring all residents and caring for them in consultation with their GPs.
Given the high number of positive COVID-19 cases, visitors are discouraged at this time and children under the age of 12 years are not permitted.
If you do choose to continue with your visit, you are required to wear full PPE at all times and in all places within the care centre. This includes a P2/N95 mask, shield and gown which will be provided on entry. Staff will instruct you on the correct way to wear your PPE and how to dispose of it safely. This is to protect you, your loved one and all others living and working in the care centre.
We are continuing with our routine testing regime to ensure we detect any other cases as soon as possible. If your loved one returns a positive result, we will let you know by phone and will continue to provide you with updates regarding their progress.
Due to the risks posed by the current COVID-19 outbreak, the Wi-Fi and network upgrade which had been scheduled to take place from Friday 2 June to Sunday 4 June has been put on hold. We will let you and your loved one know when it has been rescheduled.
If you choose to continue with your plans to visit please assist us by complying with the following:
More details on our visiting arrangements can be found on our website here.
Please do not visit if you are unwell yourself, with even the mildest symptoms. Symptoms of respiratory infection can indicate a range of contagious viruses including COVID-19 and influenza.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Yours sincerely
Belinda Pheeney
