Correction following this morning’s update re isolation period

2 September 2022

Dear family member/resident representative,

In my update to you this morning, I let you know that there is no change to the isolation period requirements for those wishing to visit an aged care centre.

Federal and state governments agreed earlier this week to reduce the isolation period from 7 days to 5 days for the general community.

As I explained there is no change to the requirements for those wishing to visit an aged care centre. However the isolation period for people visiting an aged care centre is 10 days since diagnosis (not 7 days) and no symptoms.

For clarity, if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 you must not enter an aged care centre until 10 days has passed since you tested positive, and only if you have no symptoms.

I apologise for any confusion caused by my earlier message.

Please pass this on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions please contact your Care Manager.

Thank you again for your co-operation.

Yours sincerely

Nia Briguglio
