Higher Everyday Living Fees (HELF)

Higher Everyday Living Fees give you the choice to add a little extra to your everyday, through premium and enhanced services.

A little extra to your
everyday

HELF was introduced by the Australian Government under the Aged Care Act 2024. It stands for Higher Everyday Living Fee, and it replaces the Additional Service Fees.

HELF gives you choice: the option to add services that are additional to, or of a higher standard than, those included in your care.

It’s a simple way to enjoy more of what you love, on your terms.

Choose what works for you

Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, you can choose the HELF services and everyday touches that matter to you. Every service is available as part of a package, as individual items or by one-off request. If there are a few things you’ll enjoy regularly, the package options usually provide the best value. If it’s just the occasional treat you’re after, then paying by request means you only pay for what you use.

Packages built for you

IRT’s HELF services and packages draw on our experience of providing additional services across our residential care homes. They bring together everyday extras we know residents value that suit different interests and preferences, so you can choose what matters to you.

My IRT Lifestyle Plus Package

A package focused on everyday social and lifestyle touches, like happy hour, high tea and dance classes. It suits residents who enjoy a few regular activities and like the ease of one simple daily rate.

My IRT Comfort Plus Package

A package centred on everyday comforts in your room, covering things like TV, Wi-Fi, phone, and other small conveniences. It suits residents who want these comforts set up and included, rather than arranged one at a time.

My IRT Higher Living Complete Package

A combined package bringing together both the social lifestyle services and the everyday room comforts. It suits residents who want the full offering covered together under one simple daily rate.
