Home care is a range of services that help you to live independently at home for longer. IRT can help you with household chores, personal care and social outings.

The cost of your home care services depends on:
The Government helps to fund simple home care services through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). More complex home care is funded through the Home Care Packages program.
You can also choose to pay for home care services privately.
The Australian Government regulates and helps with the cost of receiving home care services. This ensures that people who can afford to do so, contribute to the cost of their services. It also provides a safety net for people on low fixed incomes, like pensioners.
Home care funding from the Australian Government is provided through two programs, the CHSP program or Home Care packages.
Getting assessed for government funding support is easy. Phone My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 and arrange for someone to visit you at home to assess your needs.
Simple home care assessments are done by a Regional Assessment Service (RAS) team. More complex assessments are done by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). You can also choose to pay for your home care privately, as described below.
Privately funded home care
IRT offers a range of home care services that can be personalised to support people, from basic help around the home to high-level clinical needs. These can be accessed through a privately funded package, or even as a one-off service for help when you need it most.

Home Care Packages program
Helps to fund the cost of more complex home care services.
Eligibility for Home Care Packages is determined by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). You’ll need to complete an Income and Asset Test too.
There are four levels of care with variable waiting periods. My Aged Care will write to tell you when a package’s been assigned.

You can also choose to pay for home care services privately. Supplementing a government-funded Home Care Package with privately-funded services might give you more choice and control over your services. General support starts at just $19.80.
We want you to start living your best life at home as soon as possible. If you’re eligible for a government-funded Home Care Package it could be at least six months before a package is assigned to you.

When you get home care services from IRT, you have a dedicated Customer Relationship Manager and home care team.
