Important information for visitors to IRT's Residential Care Homes

30 December 2025

At IRT we’re focused on balancing our residents’ wellbeing and the risk of an outbreak of transmissible infection, including COVID-19, in our residential care homes.

We’re committed to doing all we can to keep our care homes open to visitors so everyone can enjoy time with family and friends – and we all have a role to play in achieving this.

Visiting and resident outings

If you’re planning to visit one of our residential care homes or take a resident for an outing, please consider the Dos and Don’ts listed in the table below, and click here for more detailed information.

Outbreaks of transmissible infection

If the residential care home you’re planning to visit is experiencing an outbreak of transmissible infection, you may be required to take precautionary measures like wearing additional personal protective equipment (PPE) or completing a rapid antigen test.

To view a list of IRT Residential Care Homes managing an active outbreak where such requirements may be in place, click here.

Sometimes restrictions and changes must be implemented quickly and at short notice before this page can be updated, so before visiting you may also like to phone the residential care home to check.
