Age Matters. Empowering older Australians to live free from disadvantage

Age Matters tackles homelessness, ageism and social isolation head on. Why? Because disadvantage doesn’t discriminate.

15,000 people over the age of 55 are homeless on any given night.

More than 1 in 4 ageing Australians live in poverty.

Older people who experience ‘extreme loneliness’ are up to 26 percent more likely to die prematurely.

We’re working to change this, and you can help. Support our work or donate online.

Age Matters Comedy Night

We’re hosting a comedy night fundraiser in partnership with Wollongong Comedy to help support older people facing homelessness.

Headlined by comedian Tommy Dean, it’s bound to be a night full of laughs. Grab your tickets today!

Supported housing

We help older Australians facing homelessness find stable accommodation that’s right for them.

Our team works directly with at-risk clients to help them find safe and secure housing.

Service Linkage

We are committed to helping people beyond their front door.

We help clients navigate complex systems, such as My Aged Care, and link them to appropriate services that address their individual needs.

Get involved

We assist older people to enjoy paid work, volunteering and social activities.

Volunteer with Age Matters and make a real difference to the lives of older Australians.

“I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for the support of Age Matters and Housing (Housing NSW/Department of Communities and Justice).”
