Expert guidance to plan the aged care journey
On Monday 12 November IRT Group will host an Aged Care Planning Expo in Wollongong to answer questions about the transition into aged care and provide useful information to help navigate the aged care journey.
Local business people and leading industry and government experts will be on hand to help seniors and their loved ones seek guidance about their future care, security and happiness as they age.
“The Wollongong Aged Care Planning Expo we held earlier this year was very successful, so we are running two time slots this time round, a morning and night session to satisfy demand,” said Jason Malone, IRT’s Executive General Manager – Aged Care Centres.
“The same experienced advisers will be on hand this time to help seniors and their families navigate the aged care planning process, and help ensure they are legally and financially ready,” he said.
Foye Legal will attend to offer assistance with Wills, Powers of Attorney and Appointments of Enduring Guardianship to ensure people have their affairs in order when they decide to enter residential care.
“Ideally by the time someone is ready for admission into residential care, a Will should be in place,” said lawyer Diana Foye. “But you may be surprised by how often there is no will, or the will that is available is not valid, causing major emotional distress for children and family.”
Hillross Fairy Meadow, specialists in aged care advice, will answer questions about the costs associated with residential aged care and the payment options available.
“We are fortunate to live in a country where longevity is becoming increasingly the norm, however, not everyone will be able to continue to live independently. Many will need to access residential aged care services,” said Dianne Chalk CFP®, Accredited Aged Care Professional™ from Hillross.
“Getting the right information and advice now will help you make the best choices for your future care, security and happiness,” Ms Chalk said.
