An important update about IRT William Beach Gardens Aged Care Centre

Dear family member/resident representative,

I am writing to let you know that we are still caring for several cases of COVID-19 in Akuna Cottage at your loved one’s care centre.

In response to these cases, our outbreak management plan has been implemented, which includes a range of infection control protocols to minimise the risk of the virus spreading within the care centre.

We have widened the PPE precautions to include any visitors to Flinders West and The Grange, following an exposure risk.

Our routine testing regime will continue, to ensure we detect any other cases as soon as possible. If your loved one returns a positive result, we will let you know by phone and continue to provide you with a daily update regarding their progress.

Visiting arrangements

If you do continue with your plans to visit the care centre, the following arrangements apply:

• Visitors to Akuna Cottage, Flinders West and The Grange will be asked to wear a P2/N95 mask and a face shield at all times. These will be provided on entry.

• All visitors to the care centre must provide proof of a negative rapid antigen test before entry, which has been completed within the last 72 hours.

Visitors to other units are not required to wears masks at this time but they may if they wish to.

All other visiting arrangements continue to apply. You can find more information about our visiting arrangements on our website here.

As always please do not visit your loved one if you are experiencing any symptoms or are feeling unwell, even if the symptoms are mild. Even if you have a negative COVID-19 test result you may still have a contagious respiratory infection.
