14 April 2023
Dear family member/resident representative,
I am writing to let you know that a small number of residents at your loved one’s aged care centre have tested positive to Parainfluenza Virus.
Three residents with the virus are in the Wattle Dementia Specific Unit and one is in the Bottlebrush Unit. The four residents have mild symptoms and are recovering well.
To help manage the virus, all staff are now required to wear surgical masks. We also strongly encourage visitors to wear masks when visiting the aged care centre. Please follow instructions on this when you arrive at the care centre and remember to ensure you provide proof of a negative rapid antigen test conducted on the day of your visit.
Where possible, residents are being encouraged to stay in their rooms and to also wear masks.
Residents with symptoms have also been tested for COVID-19, with negative results so far. As always, if your loved one returns a positive result, we will let you know by phone.
Please pass this message on to others as you consider appropriate and if you have any questions, please contact me.
I will provide you with another update early next week.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely
Iva Vujica
